Individual Academic-Based Counseling

the College of Graduate Nursing held a White Coat Ceremony for FNP students. Guest speakers included board member John Forbing, and Dr. Cynthia Jovanov, President of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners.

Academic Counseling Sessions

Through facilitated conversations with counselors, students acquire new skills in areas of academic success and wellbeing. Sessions are 50 minutes in length, confidential, free, and offer personalized support to each student. Topics covered may include:
  • academic writing
  • focus
  • stress management
  • study skills
  • test taking
  • time management
  • wellbeing

Academic Writing Sessions

Students may schedule 50 minute meetings to improve their writing effectiveness. Students will develop skills in writing processes such critical thinking, organization, clarity, and persuasion. Students should provide relevant materials (document, prompt, rubric, special notes) at or before each session.

The College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific held its White Coat Ceremony Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022 at the Ontario Convention Center. The White Coat Ceremony welcomes incoming students into the health care professions and helps them become aware of their responsibilities as healers.
