Doctor of Dental Medicine

The DMD 4 year program utilizes an innovative curriculum emphasizing active learning, technology, and humanism. Integration occurs throughout four main curricular building blocks: Basic and Biomedical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Comprehensive Patient Care, and Community-Based Dental Education, with an overarching WesternU theme of Interprofessional Education. The result is a DMD graduate of today, who is ready for the practice of tomorrow.
The College of Dental Medicine International Dentist Program held a White Coat Ceremony for the classes of 2023 and 2024 Wednesday, March 2, 2022. The ceremony was held in the Health Education Center Recital Hall.

International Dentist Program

The International Dentist Program (IDP) is designed to award a DMD degree to foreign trained dentists. Following an intensive preparatory course, IDP students join regularly enrolled students in the last 2 years of curriculum and have the same experiences and meet the same expectations for graduation.
