Dr. Erene Saad is a board-certified periodontist with advanced training in periodontology, implant dentistry, and periodontal plastic surgery. She is dedicated to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care and is passionate about educating both patients and future dental professionals.
Dr. Saad earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Illinois. Following graduation, she practiced as a general dentist in California, where her growing interest in the surgical and regenerative aspects of dentistry inspired her to pursue specialty training in periodontics. She subsequently completed her periodontal residency at Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.In recognition of her clinical and academic accomplishments during residency, Dr. Saad was selected to present at the 2022 Robert Schoor Memorial Northeast Implant Symposium, a distinguished honor that highlights emerging talent and excellence within the field of implant dentistry. Following thecompletion of her residency, she achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of Periodontology while practicing in the Philadelphia and South Jersey regions.
Her professional journey ultimately brought her back home to California, where she established her periodontal career and opened the door to entering academia. Today, she is proud to serve as an integral member of the growing periodontics faculty at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine, where she is committed to mentoring future dentists while contributing to the continued growth and excellence of the program. Dr. Saad's teaching philosophy emphasizes evidence-based decision-making, compassionate patient care, and the development of strong clinical judgment. She values the opportunity to share her knowledge and surgical experience with students, helping them build confidence and competence as they prepare to enter clinical practice.
Outside of her professional activities, Dr. Saad enjoys exploring new restaurants, spending time by the ocean, hiking, and pursuing creative interests such as ceramics and beading. She is actively involved in her church community and missionary outreach efforts and values spending time with family and friends.
