Our colleges and programs offer a number of in-person and virtual events throughout the year, from virtual preview days, to group advising sessions, to presentations from faculty and more. The list below provides links to information and registration for many of these events, and is updated regularly as new events are added.

  • Inside Optometry: How to Succeed in Your Interview

    Wednesday, September 27 at 12:00 PM Pacific Standard Time

    The College of Optometry is hosting a webinar, where you’ll receive tips and advice on how to prepare for optometry school interviews. A member of our admissions committee will share insight into what makes for a successful interview, as well as common interview mistakes to avoid. We’ll also provide an overview of our interview day, explain the differences between our online and in-person interview options, and share when and where our interviews will take place.

    Join us for our Zoom group advising sessions. These sessions are designed to answer your specific questions about the admissions and the application process, but in an open session with other prospective students present.

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) | WEDO Mock MMIs

    Monday, October 2 at 5:30 PM Pacific Standard Time

    Please join WEDO and COMP-Northwest on Zoom for an informational session and live practice multiple mini-interview (MMI). Three volunteers will practice their MMI interviewing skills in front of the group, followed by a productive conversation about ways to be successful in future interviews. WEDO = WC4BL (White Coats for Black Lives) Enhancing Diversity in Osteopathy. Our mission is to support students from diverse backgrounds on their paths to medicine. We’ll seek volunteers from those who register early.

    Are you curious about what life is like as a physical therapist? Join the College of Health Sciences – Northwest at an upcoming virtual webinar where we’ll have an in-depth discussion about the physical therapy profession. Dr. Cody Serdar, PT, DPT, DHSC, will provide insight into the wide variety of practice settings available, the outlook for the growing physical therapy profession, and the opportunities and challenges associated with this rewarding career path.

    The MSMS program is designed to assist individuals from diverse backgrounds in gaining acceptance to professional schools with the ultimate goal of increasing the number of health-professionals in underserved areas. Our 12-month Master of Science in Medical Sciences program will provide you with the critical evaluation skills and research awareness necessary for you to become a well-informed, evidence-based professional; something that is impossible to achieve exclusively within the time constraints of most professional degree programs.

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) | “What is a DO?”

    Wednesday, October 25 at 6:00 PM Pacific Standard Time

    Join us as a panel of COMP/COMP-Northwest alumni, osteopathic physicians, practicing in several specialty areas discuss what being a DO means to them. They’ll share stories from their journeys through medical school, residency and beyond, along with advice to our prospective student audience, and we’ll open it up to questions during the second half.

  • Master of Science in Nursing – Entry Level | Information Session

    Thursday, October 26 at 3:00 PM Pacific Standard Time

    Nurses are in high demand! The field of nursing is a stable and fulfilling career path with plenty of opportunities for positive career growth but the journey to becoming a nurse can be challenging. Please join us for this 30 minute introductory informational session ideal for Bachelor degreed individuals who are looking to start their educational journey in nursing.

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) | COMP-Northwest Preview Day & DO2028 Class Klatch

    Saturday, November 4 at 9:00 AM Pacific Standard Time

    Prospective students, accepted students into the DO2028 class, and their guests are invited to visit WesternU COMP-Northwest in Lebanon, Oregon for this half-day event. This on-site event will showcase a number of activities from our hands on curriculum, a med student panel, the option of a general tour of the school and includes lunch and snacks. Accepted students will spend the day together getting know some of their future cohort. Check-in will take place from 9am-9:30am, and the event will conclude between 1-2pm depending upon the optional walking tour.
