Our colleges and programs offer a number of in-person and virtual events throughout the year, from virtual preview days, to group advising sessions, to presentations from faculty and more.  The list below provides links to information and registration for many of these events, and is updated regularly as new events are added.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Drop-In Advising Session

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO- Lebanon OR) | Group Advising Session

    Join us for a Q&A-style information session designed to address general questions about the admissions and application process. This session provides prospective students with an opportunity to gain valuable insights and clarification on what to expect as they navigate the application journey.

  • Pharmacy School Application & Interview Workshop

    Thursday, September 24 at 6:30 PM Pacific Standard Time

    Join us for an interactive on-campus workshop designed to help students navigate the pharmacy school application and interview process, especially as the PharmCAS application cycle is now open.

    Participants will gain practical insight into the application process, learn strategies for preparing for pharmacy school interviews, and take part in hands-on activities to practice what they learn. Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions, connect with current pharmacy students, and gain firsthand insight into the pharmacy school experience.

    Food will be provided for all participants, so come ready to learn, engage, and connect with the WesternU pharmacy community!

  • DPM "Drop-In" Monthly Group Advising Sessions

    Wednesday, September 30 at 2:30 PM Pacific Standard Time
    For pre-med students who are interested in becoming physicians with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree, Western University of Health Sciences hosts a virtual advising session every last Wednesday of the month in 2026. Our Assistant Director of Recruitment, TJ Pe, will be available to answer your admissions questions and/or get you connected with DPM students and faculty for more in-depth information about the program and career. This is an open session that you may enter and leave at your own convenience.

  • DPT Drop-In Advising Session

    For prospective students who are interested in becoming physical therapists, Western University of Health Sciences hosts a virtual advising session designed to help you learn more about our Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.

    WesternU’s DPT Recruiters, Martin Williams and Ryan Vidales, will host this virtual advising session designed to help you learn more about our Doctor of Physical Therapy programs in Pomona, CA and Lebanon, OR, respectively. 

    During this session, you are encouraged to ask questions regarding admissions, curriculum, clinical rotations, or any other topics related to your pursuit of an DPT degree.  This is an open and informal session where you will receive personalized guidance in a relaxed, supportive environment. 

  • Beyond Access: Supporting Students with Disabilities in the Health Professions

    What does it look like to pursue a career in healthcare while navigating a disability? Join Western University of Health Sciences for an informative conversation about disability support, accommodations, and student resources available throughout our health professions programs.

    Hear from the Director of the Office of Disabilities and Health Policy and a student leader as they discuss the history and mission of disability support at WesternU, the types of academic accommodations and resources available to students, and the importance of creating an inclusive environment within health professions education. The conversation will also provide an opportunity for prospective students to ask questions and learn more about the student experience.

    This webinar is open to all prospective students—including students with disabilities who are considering a health professions career and anyone interested in learning more about how students with disabilities are supported at WesternU.   • From WesternU to Healthcare Leadership: Exploring the New MHA Program

    “From WesternU to Healthcare Leadership: Exploring WesternU’s New MHA Program” is an event that is specifically built for current WesternU staff members, students, and alumni, who are interested in earning a Master of Healthcare Administration degree. Recruiter of Graduate Health Professions Programs, Ryan Vidales, will provide prospective students with a comprehensive overview of the program, including its flexible schedule, curriculum structure, and experiential learning opportunities. Following the presentation, Ryan will lead a Q&A session, where prospective applicants can ask any questions related to the MHA application process, program structure, professional opportunities, and much more.

    Join us as a panel of WesternU HCOM research faculty and medical students discuss their research and the research opportunities which COMP/HCOM offers medical students.  You’ll learn about the Research Club, Research Longitudinal Track, Research Conferences, Symposium and more. The panel will finish with a Q&A session with our audience.

  • The Path to Being a Surgeon and Beyond

    Join Heather Phipps, DO, Site-Dean of COMP-Northwest and Associate Professor Orthopedic Surgery and Sean McCully, MD, Associate Professor of Surgery, as they share their stories and experiences selecting surgery as a specialty, going through residency and continuing on into practice.  They’ll be joined by current medical students pursuing a similar surgical journey.  After hearing their stories we look forward to answering questions from our pre-med audience.  Even if surgery is not your specialty of choice, please join us and hear their stories and learn about choosing a specialty that fits you.
