DNP – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (DNP/PMHNP)

The College of Graduate Nursing (CGN) at WesternU pioneered the delivery of a web-based family nursing practitioner program in 1997 – the very first program of its kind in the nation.  Today, that legacy continues with our Doctor of Nursing Practice/Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (DNP/PMHNP) program.  The WesternU College of Graduate Nursing offers a seamless progression to earn your Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree along with your Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certificate/credential.

Our hybrid online learning program delivers the knowledge and skills to prepare you for your PMHNP role and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree within a flexible schedule.  Our campus-based seminar intensives, on the WesternU California campus, and clinical experiences in a designated community will prepare you for clinical and doctoral practice within a variety of healthcare settings.

Learn more about the program by visiting the Requirements page. Here you will discover the importance of the DNP and understand what it takes for you to start the journey.  Soon, you will be providing comprehensive care to patients, families, and communities.

You’re invited to our webinar, where you’ll connect with WesternU alumni who will address the general concerns students have about pursuing higher education. Our alumni will discuss topics like: Have I waited too long to return to graduate school?, Is it too late to make a career change?, Am I going to be able to balance my family and the workload?, and other concerns students may have about returning to school to enter the health care field. We hope you’ll join us!
