President’s Office
November 15, 2025
Dear WesternU Community,
Recently, we shared, with heavy hearts, the passing of Trustee Dr. Dianne L. Philibosian, who served Western University of Health Sciences with extraordinary dedication and compassion since joining the Board of Trustees, in 2021.
Dr. Philibosian’s legacy of leadership, scholarship, and humanity profoundly shaped the WesternU community and the institution. A nationally recognized expert in early childhood development and higher education governance, Dianne brought a deep commitment to humanism, integrity, and service to every endeavor. Her insight, warmth, and unwavering belief in education’s power to transform lives have left an indelible mark on our university.
In recognition of her exceptional contributions and embodiment of WesternU’s values, the Board of Trustees and the Office of the President are honored to award Dr. Philibosian, posthumously, with the inaugural Order of Humanism.
The Order of Humanism is the highest honor bestowed by WesternU, recognizing individuals who have exemplified the university’s mission through distinguished service and outstanding contributions over a significant period. Recipients of this award have profoundly enriched the university and advanced our humanistic tradition in healthcare.
Dr. Philibosian’s visionary leadership and steadfast dedication to good governance, collaboration, and institutional growth make her a most fitting first honoree. As we celebrate Dr. Philibosian’s extraordinary life and service, we invite those who wish to honor her memory to contribute to the Board of Trustees Scholarship Fund, which reflects her lifelong commitment to supporting students and expanding access to education.
