Designing WesternU’s Future

President’s Office

February 21, 2023

Dear WesternU Colleagues,

I am excited to announce a new chapter for the Western University of Health Sciences: Designing WesternU’s Future. Over the coming months and years, WesternU will collaborate across our unique community and with external partners, to position the University as one of the country’s – and the world’s – preeminent private, not-for-profit, graduate academic healthcare research universities. Alongside the RW Jones Agency, a national strategic consulting firm exclusively serving institutions of higher education, a Steering Committee has been established with membership from across WesternU’s five governance bodies as well as enrollment, finance, human resources, institutional research and effectiveness, operations, and student affairs. This Steering Committee will be instrumental in guiding the University forward. We will dream big and ask big questions, with the goal of helping each of us to envision WesternU over the next 10, 15, 20 years, and beyond.

Stay tuned for announcements in the coming weeks on the next steps for Designing WesternU’s Future, including a website launch. The Steering Committee and I are excited to connect and engage with the WesternU community in unique ways. We will work with Rankin Climate to gather insight into what the WesternU community needs to be successful in the coming decades. We will engage with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and key university partners virtually and in person, on the Pomona and Lebanon campuses, to hear your stories and ensure your voice is part of designing the future of WesternU. And we will use research to guide strategy, analyze and interpret the data we gather, and communicate the information that will support the assessment of university initiatives, our capital campaign, the expansion of our Oregon campus, the allocation of university resources, the future of enrollment at WesternU, and our research footprint.

I am so excited to learn from you and help usher WesternU into its bright future.

With warmest regards,
Robin
