Important Update on Compensation Review and Adjustments

President’s Office

December 13, 2024

We are excited to share some important updates regarding the Compensation Project. Recognizing and rewarding the hard work and dedication you bring to our institution each day is central to fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to excel.

Our faculty and staff are the heart and soul of the WesternU community. Your passion, expertise, and tireless efforts are the driving force behind our success. It is essential that our compensation structure reflects the vital contributions you make.

While compensation is only one aspect of your professional experience, we understand its critical importance. That is why implementing the Classification and Compensation Model has been a key priority in preparing the fiscal year 2025 budget. We are pleased to take this important step forward to ensure competitive and equitable compensation for all.

I am pleased to announce that the initial faculty Classification and Compensation Study report from McKnight will be delivered in January 2025. An implementation plan based on these findings will be shared with the campus community and will include specific details and timelines. Implementation will begin immediately thereafter.  This marks an important milestone in the operationalization and communication of the compensation plan, reinforcing our commitment to investing in you—our greatest asset. Retaining our highly valued faculty and staff is as critical as, if not more than, recruiting new talent.

Please know that we remain committed to transparency throughout this process. We are confident these changes will have a positive impact on our community, strengthening the culture of respect and appreciation we all strive to uphold.

Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and unwavering loyalty. Your contributions are seen, deeply valued, and appreciated. We look forward to supporting your continued success and growth in the year ahead.

Warmest Regards,
Robin
