IMPORTANT UPDATE: Implementation Phases of the Faculty, Staff, and Administrators’ Compensation Project

President’s Office

February 7, 2025

On January 27th, you received a message outlining the plan to begin the phased implementation of the Faculty, Staff, and Administrators’ Compensation Project. We wish to share with you the following update related to Phase 1:

Phase 1: Immediate Adjustments

The Offices of the President, Provost, Finance and Budget, Human Resources, and Legal Affairs are collaborating closely with the College Deans to ensure that the process moves forward as planned. As a reminder, the first phase of salary adjustments will prioritize immediate increases for full-time faculty, beginning with those whose salaries are most out of alignment with competitive market zones, with the goal of aligning compensation, based on respective rank, status, and academic disciplines.

Although the effective date of the Phase 1 salary adjustment is February 3rd, 2025, the salary adjustments will first appear in the payroll issued on February 28th, 2025 (not February 14th, 2025). Retroactive pay (to be in alignment with the February 3rd, 2025, adjustment date) will be processed in an off-cycle payroll during the week of March 3rd, 2025. This additional time ensures the proper administration of the Phase I process. All faculty who are subject to the Phase 1 implementation will receive a salary letter detailing the adjustment by February 28th, 2025.

Once again, the university places on full display its ability to unite behind a common vision with successful action. We sincerely thank you for your collective effort, and for making history, by arriving as expeditiously as possible at the implementation phase for this project.

I wish to reiterate that we consider compensation to be of paramount importance to the university. Please know that we are approaching this process with humanism, care, and thoughtfulness to ensure that it is fair and aligned with our shared goals of excellence, and university ethos.

Thank you for your patience and support as we continue this important work together. We will provide additional updates, real-time, as we proceed forward through these phases.
