Dear WesternU Community-

I am delighted to share that WesternU continues its goal trajectory to become a mature university through the introduction of integrity of process, consistent with national standards of higher education.

WesternU will establish centralized oversight over critical institutional initiatives and functions. One such area is the institutional recognition of the extraordinary contributions of employees at WesternU and remarkable external parties who are staunch supporters of WesternU.

The Office of the President is charged with the operationalization of all institutional level awards to employees and third parties. Accordingly, an Institutional level Task Force is being created, which will include representatives from the five branches of governance and other stakeholders.

This Task Force will be responsible for creating an institutional policy and procedure operationalizing the review, nomination, and approval of all institutional awards to employees and third parties in a manner which includes the transparent and inclusive participation of all the branches of governance.

The outcomes of the Task Force will be discussed at the University Council meeting for further refinement and subsequently presented to the President & Provost for consideration and final decision.

In the interim, it is important to note that institutional awards to employees or third parties (or recommendations of such) will only be considered if they adhere to a transparent process and established written policy. We appreciate your cooperation and respect for the process in ensuring the integrity of institutional awards.
