Agata Kelman, DO 2028 Student DO of the Month<\/h3>\n

“Agata is an extremely influential student doctor and leader. She was extremely knowledgeable during the interview I had with Western, and she greatly impacted my decision to attend Western. She has continued to help me and numerous other incoming students with information on M1 and how to get involved in school. She is always kind, supportive, and generous as she provides advice and encouragement.”<\/i><\/div>\n
“I would love to nominate Agata Kelman for Student Doctor of the Month. She is someone who is always showing up for others and finding ways to support both her classmates and the community.<\/p>\n

She is involved in so many meaningful ways, such as being a CMR TA or volunteering as an admissions ambassador. Additionally, Agata takes it upon herself to organize various Zoom meetings to help support and guide the first-year students. On top of all of this, she is also getting her MBA on the side, which is incredibly impressive. She balances a lot, but still makes time to mentor, encourage, and help others. Her leadership, kindness, and dedication make her very deserving of Student Doctor of the Month.”<\/i><\/div>\n

Faculty Spotlight: Seth Politano, DO<\/h3>\n

\"A<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Dr. Seth Politano, who was recognized by the COMP DO Class of 2028 with the Golden Apple Award!<\/p>\n

Honored by the recognition, Dr. Politano reflected on the privilege of being part of his students’ journey, sharing, “Getting to be a small part of your medical school journey has been a privilege. Watching you grow over the past two years has been inspiring, and I’m excited to see what’s ahead for each of you.”<\/p>\n

As the Class of 2028 begins clinical rotations, he encouraged students to remain curious, compassionate, and true to the passions that brought them to medicine, reminding them that while medical knowledge develops over time, “the way you treat your patients and the people around you will define the kind of physician you become.”<\/p>\n

He concluded by thanking the class for the honor and reaffirming his continued support as they embark on the next chapter of their medical education.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Alumni Spotlight: Lisa Warren, DO \u201901<\/h3>\n

\"A<\/p>\n

I am deeply passionate about medical education, pediatrics, and wellness, and have dedicated both my professional and personal life to expanding my expertise and skills to better serve my patients and community. After completing my pediatric residency at Baylor Scott &amp; White\/Texas A&amp;M in 2004, I pursued further education, earning my Health Care Executive MBA from the University of California, Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business in 2019.
\nI have been part of WesternU\/COMP since 2011, first as a faculty member and now as Dean, as well as an engaged alumnus. Outside of my professional commitments, I cherish spending time with my family and am passionate about health and fitness. I am a certified yoga instructor and enjoy outdoor activities such as running half marathons, hiking, and water sports. I also find joy in attending live music events.<\/p>\n
