Distinguished Faculty Awards

COMP Distinguished Faculty Award for Teaching and Education

This award recognizes a faculty member from COMP’s Pomona and Lebanon campuses for excellence in teaching, contributions to the educational mission of COMP/University, demonstrated concern for students’ learning, and a commitment to high standards of professional life. Faculty members can self-nominate or nominate a colleague. Award recipient will receive a medallion and $500 cash award. The award will be presented during a special recognition ceremony and banquet, and the recipient’s name added to a cumulative plaque and inducted into the COMP Hall of Fame.

Arnold P Gold Foundation’s Leonard Tow Humanism Award in Medicine

The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award recognizes a faculty member (DO or MD) who demonstrates both clinical excellence and outstanding compassion in the delivery of care, and who shows respect for patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues.

COMP Distinguished Faculty Award for Leadership and Service

This award recognizes a faculty member from COMP’s Pomona and Lebanon campuses for exemplary leadership, service and contributions to COMP/University committees, professional and/or local communities/societies/organizations, the development and implementation of COMP programs, and for demonstrating a commitment to high standards of professional life. Some examples of leadership are: faculty/shared governance, major curricular reform or program development, chairing an academic program, fostering collaboration between or among departments, mentoring of faculty, exceptional contributions to achieving one or more goals of COMP/University, and representing COMP/University in external organizations. Faculty members can self-nominate or nominate a colleague. The awardee will receive a medallion and $500 cash award. The award will be presented during a special recognition ceremony and banquet, and the recipient’s name added to a cumulative plaque and inducted into the COMP Hall of Fame.

Faculty members can self-nominate or nominate a colleague. Award recipient will receive a medallion and $500 cash award. The award will be presented during a special recognition ceremony and banquet, and the recipient’s name added to a cumulative plaque and inducted into the COMP Hall of Fame.
