https:\/\/fontawesome.com License - https:\/\/fontawesome.com\/license\/free Copyright 2024 Fonticons, Inc.--><path d=\"M233.4 105.4c12.5-12.5 32.8-12.5 45.3 0l192 192c12.5 12.5 12.5 32.8 0 45.3s-32.8 12.5-45.3 0L256 173.3 86.6 342.6c-12.5 12.5-32.8 12.5-45.3 0s-12.5-32.8 0-45.3l192-192z\"\/><\/svg>\n              <\/span>\n                          <\/span>\n            <\/a>\n          <\/template>\n          <template #accordion-content>\n            <h2>Application Requirements<\/h2>\n<h3>Completion of prerequisite courses as outlined<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Minimum Overall and Prerequisite GPA of 3.00<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>GPA must meet minimum requirement at the time of application and be maintained through admission into the program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Repeated Courses \u2013 The maximum number of preferred repeated courses is five science courses<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>We will exclude those that are repeated due to expiring<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bachelor\u2019s Degree<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>BS or BA from a regionally accredited U.S. institution in any field except Physical Therapy<\/li>\n<li>Degree must be conferred by end of spring term prior to matriculation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Letters of Recommendation<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Three (3) letters of recommendation are required:\n<ul>\n<li>One (1) from a supervising physical therapist<\/li>\n<li>One (1) from a college instructor<\/li>\n<li>One (1) from a licensed physical therapist, college instructor, college administrator, community service coordinator, or administrator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Your letters of recommendation are part of the PTCAS application and will be submitted to the admissions office along with your PTCAS application<\/li>\n<li>Recommendations from a family member will not be considered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Therapy Observation Hours<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 80 hours required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>History of ongoing community service and involvement recommended<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Competitive applicants should be able to demonstrate ongoing community service. This may include volunteering and all trends of community service and may include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Homeless Shelters \/ Soup kitchens \/ Food Banks<\/li>\n<li>Community Outreach<\/li>\n<li>Veteran Programs<\/li>\n<li>Clinical (emergency assistant, patient visitor\/escort, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Tutoring<\/li>\n<li>Youth Mentoring<\/li>\n<li>Senior Citizen Home<\/li>\n<li>Church (missionary trips\/outreach)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although we do not have a minimum requirement, applicants tend to accumulate and continue to accumulate approximately 200 hours over the course of one to two years. Our more competitive applicants have accumulated well over 200 total hours within the same length of time, and continue ongoing community service up until the time they matriculate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Access to a Computer Meeting Minimum Technical Standards<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For more information please review the\u00a0<a href=\"\/computing\/new-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technical standards\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>International Student Application (ISA)<\/h2>\n<p>We do not require a separate application or fee, and you should be prepared to meet all of the prerequisite and application requirements as outlined. If you need assistance with immigration (I-20 form, F-1 visa, SEVIS, etc.), our International Student Services (ISS) staff are available to help you.\u00a0<a href=\"\/international\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visit the OISS website<\/a>\u00a0to learn more.<\/p>\n<h2>Proof of Legal US Residency \u2013 If Required<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are an international applicant or any other applicant who is not U.S. citizen and is living in the U.S., you should be prepared to provide proof of legal U.S. residency\u00a0at the time of interview<\/li>\n<li>Proof of legal U.S. residency is required prior to any offer of acceptance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Health Screening\/Immunizations Background Check<\/h2>\n<p>Should you be accepted into the Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy program, you will be required to provide proof of the required health screenings and immunizations. Additionally, your admission into the program will be\u00a0<u><strong>contingent<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0upon a satisfactory criminal background check, which is to be completed and submitted prior to orientation. The background check is required to verify that your history is consistent with the University\u2019s Standards of Professional Conduct, and to ensure that you will be qualified to participate in the required clinical education experiences. A satisfactory criminal background check indicates no criminal history or satisfactory review of a criminal conviction without limitation; both misdemeanor and felony charges will be reviewed. If your background check is not considered \u201csatisfactory\u201d, you may have limited clinical site selection, may not be eligible for licensure or may have difficulty finding employment upon graduation. Supplemental or additional background checks may be required during the course of the educational program to meet the requirements of clinical education sites.
