  • Narrative

    David Connett, DO, FACOFP dist. is the Acting Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) and COMP-Northwest at Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU). In addition he is a Professor of Family Medicine at WesternU/COMP. Dr. Connett serves on the Board of Governors for the national organization of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and is the past President of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians-California, the Osteopathic Medical Board of California and the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California.

    In addition to his duties as Acting Dean, Dr. Connett is a national consultant for residency development, having provided consultation for over 105 healthcare facilities throughout the United States. He is the lead consultant for residency development for the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and the former Chairman of the Bureau of Graduate Medical Education Development for the AOA.

    Graduating from WesternU/COMP in 1984, Dr. Connett did his postgraduate training in family medicine at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is currently board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine and earned his Distinguished Fellowship by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. With 37 years of clinical practice, Dr. Connett currently practices family medicine in Pomona, California, and previously practiced emergency medicine and aerospace medicine serving as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force. He is also a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and served in the United States Air Force for five years as a family physician and flight surgeon.

    Dr. Connett has two children. His son David is a national expert in cybersecurity, and his daughter Breanna is Chief Resident in her 5th year of surgical residency and a proud alum of COMP-Northwest. His hobbies include mountain biking, weightlifting, downhill skiing, world travel, and spending time with his granddaughter.
