Doctor and Assistant Lab work

The GCBS will train highly skilled, dedicated and caring biomedical researchers and future practitioners for entry into academia, industry or the medical professions. To that end, the GCBS strives to graduate humanistic professionals who will produce new biomedical knowledge and practice their healthcare professions with a deeper and broader understanding of the dynamic sciences underlying the treatment of patients.

Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Western University of Health Sciences, Graduate College of Biomedical Sciences (GCBS) website. GCBS supports the mission of WesternU by training future researchers and future health care professionals. Most importantly we encourage critical thinking and intellectual curiosity through our graduate programs.

Our faculty are accomplished in research, whether basic science bench research, translational research, or clinical research. They are committed to both creating new knowledge and sharing that knowledge through classroom teaching and laboratory mentoring.

Our goal, over the next year, is to develop additional research related degree programs, including PhD programs in the biomedical sciences. We also look forward to expanding our degree, certificate, and course offerings through one of the most engaging online education platforms.

Please visit our site regularly to watch how GCBS is growing to support our WesternU health professions and research programs.
